Love In Action

I was emailing a friend about our church service on sunday and decided to share what i said here.

Ok now church on Sunday was good. pastor spoke about the church being the heartbeat of the country and that as a church we are assimilating into the world culture and not 'different' from the world.
He said we allow sin to enter our lives to easily and so the world doesn't see any difference in us to them.

I think personally that while what pastor spoke was true, what i think sets us apart more than anything is our love, forgiveness and the grace we bestow to each other.

I think the world desperately needs to see a genuine christianity in us.
We all come different places and have different ideas and have been given various gifts and we are family, we cry together and laugh together.
If the church as whole actually carried out love, forgiveness and grace i believe we would indeed be set apart from the world and its culture.

One of my favorite verses is from 1 Peter 4:8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

To stop and meditate on that verse can bring all sorts of scenarios of love in action, making the world tilt its head and say 'how can they love like that'
we simply point to Christ and the cross
the ultimate love in action.
